From the Disney live action, the lion king journeys to an African savanna where the future king is born. Simba idolizes his father (King Mufasa) and takes to heart his own Royal destiny. The LION KING remake cast has been confirmed as Beyoncé and Donald Glover as the lead role in the 2019“live-action”

In this Disney live action, Donald Glover was cast as the voice of Simba, the protagonist of the lion king. The Grammy Award Winner (Singer and Rapper) who perform with the stage name Childish Gambino, will sing in the role. After landing the breakout role as Troy Barnes in “Community” Glover created and starred in the award winning television series “Atlanta” which has also been nominated for Emmy’s award. The lion king is not only the Disney Franchise; he set to play Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story.






Beyoncé leads the A-list cast as Nala, the young lioness who is the best friend of Donald Glover’s Simba. The Singer’s involvement has long been rumored, as was confirmed when she shared a poster on her Facebook page.

As the casting continues, the villainous brother ‘Scar’ is set to be played by British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor.


Comedian Billy Eichner and Pineapple Express star Seth Rogan will sing “Hakuna Matata” as Timon and Pumbaa, with South African actor John Kafi as Rafiki.


Eric Andre, Florence Kasumba and Keegan Michael-Key will voice the hyenas; Azizi, Shenzi and kamari, with john Oliver as Hornbull Zazu.


Completing the cast are child actors JD McCrary and Shahadi Wright Joseph as younger version of Simba and Nala.






The Highly-Anticipated film follows Disney recent Slate of live action remakes, the most recent which was last year is Beauty and the Beast made more than $1 billion.
